Another one of the most coveted and respectable academic research Internship program is now open. Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics(SINP) invites applications for Summer Students Programme in which students participate in research and developmental works that are of interest in SINP. The last date to apply is February 15, 2013 – hurry!

About SINP: – Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP, http://www.saha.ac.in) is a prestigious institute of academic research founded in 1950 and named after renowned scientist Professor MeghaNand Saha. Basic research is carried out in frontline areas of Physical (including Nuclear Physics), Electronic and Biophysical sciences. Such activity is coordinated by various research divisions in the institute. The institute also has various teaching and training programs.

About Internship: – Areas of research in SINP include Biophysics, Chemical Sciences, Crystallography & Molecular Biology, Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Experimental High Energy Physics, Microelectronics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics, Plasma Physics, Surface Physics, Theoretical Physics and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. Who can apply: – First year M.Sc. or equivalent B. Tech. students with excellent academic records in Physics /Chemical / Biophysical Sciences. The applicant must have a B. Sc. degree in the relevant field or should have completed at least 3 years of a 5 year integrated M. Sc. course. Only those candidates whose academic interests overlap with areas being pursued in SINP will be considered.

Location: – SINP, Kolkata

Duration: – 8 weeks (Between May & July 2012)

Stipend: – Admitted candidates would be provided a daily allowance for the duration of their stay (up to a maximum of 60 days) and TA (up to AC 3-Tier equivalent train fare) as per rules. Limited hostel facilities for the outstation candidates are available.
