hello sir, I am a B.Sc. Maths Hons. 2nd year student at MDU, Haryana…I would like to do internship in my final year from TIFR, Mumbai…..Is it the same as that of CMI and ISI ?
    1. Can u plz tell me what is the selection criteria for the same and what is looked at in our applications..
    2. Is it the %age at college that matters or our interview skills?
    3. Or is it the topic that we select for internship-period ?
    4. Are the curricular activities like am an NSS candidate and have participated in DAE essay contest (results not yet out) also a factor..
Plz do elaborate…. TIFR means a lot to me !!!!
I have already liked internshala at fb

All the factors that you have listed form part of assessment and my sense is that for an academic internship like TIFR more weight would be given to academic performance and any past research work. There also has to be a good match between the research topic that you choose and the faculty’s research interests for any academic internship to be meaningful but in case of TIFR I dont think that would be a concern and they should be able to accommodate diverse interests. The program runs, perhaps, only in summers and hence you may apply next year.

Hope this helps. Wish you all the best.
