Be your own hero. Sushmita shares her wonderful experience of internship days.
My love for writing began at the age of 16 and I knew then that I want to make a career out of this love. I remember asking my mother if I can study English after my 10th standard and due to lack of scope in the market I was not given the opportunity to do so. In the end I decided I would study business and embarked on a 5 year long journey to understand the world of business. These years were filled with confusion about my career because even 5 years down the line I still wanted to write. And thank god, the world of digital marketing was making itself known in the country in a very strong way. This, I knew, was my chance to live my dream.
A few months after graduating I started working as an intern in Buzzfactory.net as a digital marketing trainee. My daily goal was writing two blogs per day. The topics ranged from arthritis to fashion. And there are times it takes me a while to not let the serious topics bother me so much that I can’t write anything else. But I am sure I will learn as I keep working. In just two weeks time, I have been given the opportunity to write content for a website and an e-book.
I fell in love with the work from the very first day. I was finally doing what I enjoyed and I was overjoyed. Coming to work doesn’t feel like a chore, in fact I come in excited to learn about something new. My mother told me a few times that not everyone is always blessed with a job they are passionate about. I guess she is right and I really do feel blessed. That is why I knew I had to give it my shot and I tried every day to do just that! I believe my seniors took notice and I was given a permanent position as a Content Marketing Analyst. I feel proud of myself to be capable for changing a 3 month long internship to a mere 8 days long internship. This unexpected change gave me the confidence that I didn’t know I was lacking.
