What to expect once the internship starts?
No stipend is provided for these internships. Every intern is assigned a specific mentor who guides the student throughout the internship period. The first couple of days are not hectic; interns have to fill the forms to get their provisional passes. It is followed by the procedure to obtain Identity cards for hindrance-free entry on the premises. An intern has to finalize the topic of the project after discussing with the mentor which is followed by literature review and research. At the end, every intern has to submit a project report followed by an oral presentation or viva.
A couple of pro-tips:
Work culture: The work environment is chill and the timings are very flexible, generally from 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM. The workload is not stringent but you must complete the work before the deadline. It’s very rare that the internship period is extended. The cafeteria provides delicious food at subsidized rates and that’s where most of the plans are made.
Mentorship: Mentors are very supportive and provide ample time to solve your doubts and provide you enough technical and behavioral know-hows to prepare you for your transition from a student to a working professional.
