A welcome distraction from IT/Software internships, pleased to introduce HHV pumps with an internship for Mechanical / Chemical Engineering students in area of High Vacuum technology. High vacuum is an enabling technology used across a wide variety of advanced processes such as photovoltaic solar, nuclear power, metallurgy, pharmaceutical, and in nuclear physics. It is a fast growing area globally as well and especially in India with a global market of $3 bn.

About HHV Pumps: – HHV pumps (http://www.hhv.in/) is a joint venture between HHV group, the leading vacuum technology company in India over the last 40  years and Dr K. Rajagopal, an alumnus of IIT Madras who was the CEO of BOC Edwards, the largest vacuum technology business worldwide until 2006. The business was started in 2009 with the intent of combining innovative Indian engineering with highly experienced experts from Europe to supply customers globally with innovative vacuum solutions with the lowest cost of ownership.

About Internship: – The intern can work either on product and applications development or operational improvements to the supply chain. There is an expectation that the intern will be able to use his or her undoubted intellect and enquiring mind to produce innovative solutions to practical problems in area of vacuum technology.

Who can apply: – Ideal candidates will be from a Mechanical or Chemical engineering background although others areas may be acceptable, with a practical mindset and the ability to work with people. It is also expected that the intern will demonstrate capabilities to work hard as well as to innovate. Preference would be given to students from premier engineering institutes like IITs.

Location: – Bangalore, India

Duration: – 10-12 weeks

Start Date: – 1-May-2011 or flexible based on student’s academic calendar

Stipend: – Rs. 5,000 / month

    the intern req. states that of mech/chem background..but will a fresher from mech background be eligible as we havent had any such courses of core engineering yet.

      That may be a bit difficult for this internship as you would be expected to know some basics at least. But no harm trying, you never know!

      Permission from the college could be a college specific requirement & is not imposed by the company. This particular internship, however, is closed now.

    hello Sir,im a btech 3rd year chemical engineering student…i would like 2 apply for this particular internship….
    but according to our academic calender,we are having our exams from july…..so could we join this internship after july????
    would they provide us accommodation and food for the said period or we have to arrange it ourself??

      This particular internship was for this summer but you may write to the email id given in the post and inquire. There is a stipend attached but not sure about accommodation and food. You may also like Internshala on facebook and stay tuned to latest internships.
