Internship with Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation – Statistics – Multiple locations, India
For all the budding statisticians, one of the most coveted internship program is back! Central Statistic Office (CSO) of Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation (MOSPI) is inviting applications for summer 2012 internship program. The last date to apply is 31st March 2012 – hurry!
About the internship: -The objectives of the internship program are following: –
(a) To familiarize the interested and willing post-graduate/research students with the Official Statistical System of the Country, with specific reference to data collection, processing & analysis, publication and dissemination needs.
(b) To create awareness amongst the students of Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics about the Indian Statistical Service and Subordinate Statistical Service.
(c) To sensitize the students of Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics about choosing their career in the field of Statistics.

Who can apply: –The applicant should be pursuing his/her post-graduation/research from a recognized College/University/Research institute in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics/ Demography or any of the applied field of Statistics
Location: – Other than head office in Delhi, CSO has regional offices all over India (in almost all the state capitals) that an applicant can choose from
Duration: – 2 months (starting no later than 1st June 2012)
Stipend: – INR 5,000/- per month

Hi, I am pursuing M.Sc. (Intg.)Economics from IIT Kanpur and currently in 3rd year. Since the qualification states to be postgraduate and I will be completing my 3 years, can I apply for the internship. Also please describe how should I answer “Marks obtained” and “% of Marks” being in IIT.

I didnt apply for the internship. However I went to the bhopal city directorate of statistics and economics for a “training” info.. They agreed for it.
