About Teach For India:- Teach For India (www.teachforindia.org), modeled on the lines of famous Teach for America movement, is a nationwide movement in pursuit of educational equity in India. Teach For India recruits exceptional college graduates and professionals to work as full time teachers in under-resourced schools for two years. Teach For India solicits leaders who will pilot the movement against educational inequity and begets the leaders of tomorrow. About the internship:- There are 8 different internship profiles that are available and details are given below. 1. Alumni impact intern: – The alumni impact intern will support the team in all initiatives being launched by the team this year. The intern will be required to conduct primary research on the education landscape of the country, will help build contacts with organizations in the sector as well as graduate schools and assist the team in day to day functions.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Working on online resource portal by doing primary research.
  2. Helping with monthly newsletter, data entry and power point formatting from time to time.
  3. Maintaining organization database and doing research on companies that we can invite to the career fair.

2. Communications intern: – The Communications (digital and online marketing) intern will assist the team’s efforts in maximizing our online presence across internally managed communications as well as engaging with external stakeholders via several online platforms.

  1. To support the online marketing, advertising, PR and media initiatives for Teach For India.
  2. To support brand building across relevant online spaces.
  3. To assist in managing the Teach For India website via CMS.
  4. Documentation and videography of Teach For India classrooms.
  5. To conceptualize and execute digital campaigns, for maximizing user engagement.
  6. Support managing all Teach For India’s social media channels.

3. Development intern: – Intern-Development supports the team in planning and executing fund raising strategies for Teach For India.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the identification and research on various fundraising avenues that would support the movement.
  2. Devise retail / online strategies for TFI to serve as a high value source of fund-raising and awareness building. This would include exploring best practices in cause marketing tie ups (abroad and in India), identifying key targets, conducting some initial outreach to gauge interest and then supporting implementation.
  3. Due diligence and research studies, as needed, to support the Development team.
  4. Support / assist the team on other Development related projects and activities on a need basis.

Impact (Curriculum and Resources) intern: – The intern will join the training and impact team and work to manage and build their curriculum through organizing and sharing teacher resources, managing knowledge on their website and researching curricula and best practices from across the world. The research and work you do will impact the 16,000 children in our classrooms across five cities.

  1. Research national and international curricula and teacher training.
  2. Strengthen our knowledge management: brainstorm ways to streamline the capturing and sharing of our resources across 5 cities and among 500 teachers.
  3. Manage curricular resources in Mumbai (teacher resources and children’s books) and manage the allocation and distribution of resources to other cities.
  4. Manage knowledge on our resource-sharing website: Collect resources, upload on our site, and make changes when necessary.
  5. Video editing: Compiling and editing video and uploading and sharing for teacher and staff development- only if skills allow.

6. Human Resources (HR) intern: – The intern will assist the Talent Associate in hiring activities to meet Teach For India’s hiring needs. This position will also support HR Initiatives and maintain data and documentation at Teach For India.

Recruitment intern: – The intern will help the team to conduct events in several colleges and corporate nationwide and internationally, drive follow-ups with high-potential candidates, as well as support in important events. Intern supports the continuity of the movement. The intern will also assist all Recruitment Associates with data management to ensure highest returns on all investments.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Being the face of Teach For India in various events and fests across colleges, companies and conferences held across the city.
  2. Leading research projects on various spheres connected to the Fellowship, Campus Ambassador and Young Professional programs.
  3. Helping in making proposals for collaboration with media and understand how over all media plan fits with Teach For India’s recruitment and funding strategies.
  4. Assisting with applicant follow-up.
  5. Conducting one big project of your own choice.
  6. Processing any ad-hoc requests that come from Recruitment Associates.

8. Selection intern: – The intern will help the team in planning, organizing and implementing Teach For India’s 3 part selection model. Intern must be detail orientated.

Primary responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for Database Management and ensuring efficient facilitation of data within the Selection team.
  2. Setting up meetings and proactively participating in the same.
  3. Responsible for reviewing TFI applications based on TFI selection models.
  4. Effective participation in the selection process of TFI Fellows by conducting phone interviews.
  5. Scheduling and conducting meetings within the team and with fellows.
  6. Analyzing previous year’s data and results.
