Internshala Career Scholarship for Girls 2017 – Results
Internshala is pleased to announce the winner of Internshala Career Scholarship for Girls 2017. Congratulations Resham Fatma!
Selected amongst 5100 applications, Resham Fatma is a second-year student pursuing B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. An acid attack survivor, she has won many awards for her bravery including Bharat Award (National Bravery Award) in 2015 by honorable Prime Minister of India and Rani Laxmibai Veerta Puraskar from U.P. government.
She has overcome many odds in her life. The acid attack occurred in 2015 when she was in 12th standard. She fought valiantly with the attacker, her own uncle. She got scarred but not scared and continued her studies at the hospital amidst numerous surgeries and unmeasurable mental trauma. She scored 87% in 12th and cleared the entrance exam of Jamia without taking any year drop. Her insurmountable grit and determination have helped her stay ahead of all the obstacles (financial, social etc.).
Resham plans to use this scholarship amount to pay her college fees for the upcoming semester. She has managed to continue her education with the help of her relatives and is performing good in her college as well (8.4 CGPA). She is planning to go for an MBA now and aspires to become an IAS officer in the future as she wants to bring a change in the society.
Internshala feels honored to have chosen her as the winner of Internshala Career Scholarship for Girls 2017. Keep it up Resham – we sincerely hope that this scholarship amount paves the way for a successful career and inspires many more girls and women throughout the country to pursue their own dreams even more relentlessly.
