Taiwan International Graduate Program – International Internship Program 2013
The Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) is now accepting applications to its 2013 International Internship Program (TIGP-IIP). The TIGP is offering up to 60 paid internship opportunities across nine programs (details below) and pre-final year undergraduate students and Masters students are eligible to apply. The last date to apply is 28th February 2013 – hurry!
About TIGP: – The TIGP is a unique all-English Ph.D. program supported by Academia Sinica (www.sinica.edu.tw), the most prestigious research institution in Taiwan.
About TIGP-IIP: – Launched in 2009, the TIGP-IIP is an intensive pre-doctoral research training program that prepares its participating interns with the necessary knowledge and skills for future research or career development through rigorous hands-on training. The objective of the program is to provide an opportunity to outstanding young scholars from around the globe to experience Taiwan’s top-notch scientific research facilities and to participate in building an intellectual network of people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
The program in conducted in collaboration with top-ranking Taiwan research universities (PI). Ideally, the qualified intern will be hosted by the PI of his or her choice. At the end of the internship, interns are required to submit a report and/or give a presentation about their research projects. Upon completion of each intern’s project, an evaluation report will be filed by the host scientist, which may later serve as a supportive document towards application for admission to TIGP.

- Bioinformatics

- Biodiversity
Who can apply: – The TIGP-IIP welcomes applications from overseas candidates of the following status:
- Undergraduate students who will have been conferred a B.S. degree by August 2014.
- Students pursuing a Master’s degree.
- Individuals holding a B.S. or Master’s degree (student’s pursuing a PhD degree are not eligible for this category)
Location: – Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan and Partner University
Duration: – 2 months (There are three 2 months slots starting 1st May, 1st June, or 1st July 2013)
Stipend: – TIGP and the hosting PI will together offer NTD 30,000/month-tax free (~USD 1000) for two months. In addition, one way airfare at economy class will be provided to participating interns upon completion of the training program. On-campus accommodation will be arranged by the TIGP office and the students will pay for the cost.
