A rendezvous with online training
About the Author: P.Sasi Kiran is pursuing B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from ANITS, Visakhapatnam. He was selected for Internshala VTC’s Young Achiever Scholarship and shares his experience with the AutoCAD training.
I registered at Internshala in the hope of finding internships during my 3rd year. One day, I came across the advertisement of ‘Internshala VTC Young Achiever Scholarship’ while browsing on their site. Intrigued, I clicked on the given link and read all the details. Through this scholarship, Internshala was providing free online training to students who were good at academics but were not financially strong. That’s when I realized how much they cared for the students! I applied for that scholarship and, fortunately, got selected. I joined their AutoCAD training program.
To be honest, I didn’t show much interest in the first week of the program. One day, while talking to my brother, who was working in a software company, I mentioned about the program. He advised me to complete the program sincerely as he had seen HR managers giving importance to VTC certification during recruitment. After listening to him, I got motivated and resumed the program again.
As I started the program, my only aim was to get the certificate but after listening to their tutorials I got hooked. They teach the program from the scratch – all the basic tools and concepts are aptly covered. Coming to the program details, it’s clearly divided into different modules. Moreover, you can’t go to the next module until the first module is finished. There is a test at the end of every module which is helpful in checking one’s learning. After completing all the modules, you have to clear a final exam to get the certificate. It is much better than any offline training institute which provides certificates if you just pay the fee; here, a certificate has to be earned – you actually need to learn the skills taught in the program.
I feel the program was very student-friendly as I could access it anytime according to my schedule. Also, the daily live chat facility with the course coordinator was something which I never expected and it really helped in clarifying my doubts.
During the last three days, when I was supposed to take the final exam, I had to leave for another state due to some unforeseen circumstances. After I returned, I was unable to access the program and couldn’t give the exam. I emailed my problem to the support team and asked them to grant me the required access for taking the exam. The following day, I got an email from them wherein they accepted my request and provided the available dates for taking the test.
I sincerely thank Internshala team for providing me this opportunity and supporting me throughout the program.
