Internet of Things was an enigma for me. Here’s how I finally unraveled the mystery within four weeks!
About the Author: Sourav Bhattacharjee is pursuing B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi. He joined Internshala Trainings for Internet of Things and shares his experience of doing an online training and how it helped him in decoding the mystery behind IoT.
I had heard a lot about Internet of Things, an upcoming field, and how it was going to take the future by storm one day. I was intrigued and wanted to know all about it. Unfortunately, no training centre that I knew of provided a training on this subject as this was quite new. And even if they did, I would have been hesitant as my previous experience of learning Java from a training institute had been bad. So I started looking for an online training in IoT and came across Internshala Trainings. As I had never heard of Internshala before, I did some background research. They seemed very professional and the content looked good, so I decided to join.
The training content was designed such that anyone who didn’t have much experience in the field could follow along easily. The four-week time period was divided succinctly into different modules that focused on different concepts. They had a test at the end of each module that needed to be cleared for moving to the next module and served as a good way to check one’s understanding of the subject. The video lectures were simply amazing and helped a lot in explaining the concepts. The kit which was provided had all major components required for understanding the BOLT embedded system.
I’m not much of a morning person and usually studied the course content at night. So even during late nights, if I faced any doubts, I just dropped an email to the support team and got a response within 2 days (and sometimes the very next day). This doubt clearing mechanism is, in my opinion, the best thing about Internshala Trainings. Before signing up, I had asked myself why I was spending money on an online training when I could learn all that from YouTube and Google for free. Well, I knew that they offered a lot of distractions as well. And after joining this training, I’ve also understood the importance of deadlines and structured learning. Through a training like this, you get to make your own schedule but you do need to follow timelines, so you can’t just keep procrastinating. Also, the time you spend sorting through all the garbage on the internet is saved and you are not overwhelmed with the plethora of information. This allows for a quick and efficient learning.
I had a great time during the training and finished it on time. I even made a cool IoT project in the end! Expert support, well-designed content, good video lectures, and excellent communication and management – these are few of the things that I would use to describe this training program. Today, Internet of Things is no more an enigma for me. This training has helped me cover all my bases and I’m planning to go for advanced courses to deep dive further into this intriguing field.
