A traveler with a purpose – Kumar’s internship story

Holding true to these words, I had always believed in the power of traveling. I had believed in the power of seeing things as they are rather than thinking about how they might be. My suitcases had always been packed and maps marked, but the tight schedule at college and my social responsibilities never allowed my ventures to begin. This summer break, however, was different.
It struck me that twenty years from now, I would be more disappointed by the things I didn’t do than by the things I did. And to amplify this thought, the correct opportunity knocked at my door at just the right moment. Tripver is India’s fastest growing travel platform. I came to know about this firm through Internshala. Their description said, “We believe that there is a traveler in each one of us. Instantly, all the right chords clicked. I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the coming two months. Without thinking twice, I applied for the intern position. Crossing the hurdle of a couple of telephonic interviews, I finally grabbed the much-aspired opportunity.
Tripver is a crowd-sourced travel platform powered by a community of passionate travelers. They believe in redefining travel and providing the travelers with an all-inclusive, hassle free and safe travel experience to carefully curated destinations at the least price possible. These trips allowed me to gain a practical exposure by experiencing life in the various ends of our country. I went for 5 trips (Leh, Ladakh, Kasol, Mcleod ganj etc.) as the tour co-captain, assisting the captain in all means to assure that the travelers had a great time. The trips I took as a part of this internship challenged my physical and mental capabilities. They helped me grow in several aspects. Leading groups of diverse travelers and forging a sense of bonding among them, being authoritative and interactive at the same moment, taking ad-hoc decisions at uncalled emergency moments, and representing the company at all fronts – all these were challenges of a unique kind and have left a long lasting impression on my personality. This experience has instilled in me sound leadership and social skills .
Apart from this, I also got to work behind the scenes towards implementing growth measures to help the company in revenue generation. Through the course of this journey, I used a variety of software and made many Excel sheets that also helped in polishing my analytical skills.
Such an exhaustive experience at Tripver, by all means, has created an extension of my technical and social skills. It has firmly made me believe that this was one of the best creative opportunities that I could undergo.
