Analytic and Impact Evaluation Internship – Teach for India – Mumbai

About Teach for India: –Teach For India (www.teachforindia.org), modeled on the lines of famous Teach for America movement, is a nationwide movement in pursuit of educational equity in India. Teach For India recruits exceptional college graduates and professionals to work as full time teachers in under-resourced schools for two years. Teach For India solicits leaders who will pilot the movement against educational inequity and begets the leaders of tomorrow. The Teach For India staff work relentlessly along with the Fellows to pioneer the movement.
About Internship: – The intern will work closely with the Manager of Research and Impact Evaluation at Teach For India on multiple projects:
- Teach For India’s first research study in collaboration with Columbia University and Educational Initiatives
- Detailed analysis of student performance in the beginning of year (June 2013) assessments
- Design and analysis of employee engagement surveys for both staff and fellows
- Measuring the effectiveness of Teach For India’s residential training program for the new cohort of fellows
- Design dashboards and info-graphics to report the performance of various functions at TeachFor India including HR, Finance, Fundraising, and Marketing
- Summarize key findings in presentations for the Board of Directors and the Senior Management at Teach For India

Who can apply: – Anyone with following skills/attributes:
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Required) – Candidates will be tested on their knowledge and experience working on MS Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using data to drive decisions: analyzing numbers and trends and critically thinking so as to use data to decide on next steps.
- Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel/Macros (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence and motivate team members and project stakeholders to achieve outcomes
- Adaptable and flexible in working style
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience working hard in a deadline-oriented, target-driven environment with respect for process and professionalism: able to keep himself/herself calm during high-stress periods.
