A really niche, perhaps life defining, and definitely a rewarding summer internship opportunity with The Carter Center, founded by ex US President Jimmy Carter. Carter Center interns come from around the world and make vital contributions to the Center’s work. In turn, the Center provides a substantive learning experience that serves as a basis for interns to explore their career options and to attain professional skills.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship, however, there is some need-based financial assistance available for candidates who are selected. The last date to apply to the summer internship program is 15th October, 2012.

About Internship: – The goal of the Internship Program is to develop an informed and skilled work force committed to advancing peace and health worldwide. Internships are available through a number of programs and offices within three broad areas of the Carter Center – Peace Programs, Health Programs, and Operations. • Substantive work experience; less than 30 percent of an intern’s responsibilities include administrative duties
• Speaker series, featuring Carter Center and other experts
• Scheduled career development opportunities with senior Carter Center staff
• Meetings with President and Mrs. Carter, including a weekend excursion to their hometown of Plains, Ga.
• Social and teambuilding opportunities with intern staff
• Membership in the intern alumni group
Who can apply: –
- 3rd/4th year Undergraduates
- Graduate Students
- Recent graduates (in last 24 month)
Preference would be given to those candidates who have demonstrated superior academic ability and possess academic, professional, or personal experience and interests related to Carter Center programs. Students can apply irrespective of their age and nationality.
Location: – Atlanta, USA
Duration: – 10 weeks (Anytime between mid January to early May)
Stipend: – This is an unpaid internship, however, there is some need-based financial assistance available for candidates who are selected.
