About the internship: – Interns will get to work on Patented Lumos Products such as the Solar Backpack, Solar T-shirt (that plays videos) and the Solar Curtains (That light up the room at night). Some of these products are being made for the first time, anywhere in the world. The interns will work with engineering team and be a part of the product development from circuit-design to testing to PCB design to post-fabrication testing. The interns will also have to perform the above design in coordination with the fashion design team, and the manufacturers. The stress is on making a commercial product that Lumos can use from day-one.
In terms of learning, Interns will learn how to take a product from concept to manufacturing. They will also learn how to coordinate with both the design team and manufacturer to create a usable, and manufacture-able product.

Who can apply: – Interns would be evaluated on the following aspects:
1. Similar Projects, if any, completed by the intern.
2. Performance on the assessment
3. Degree – prefer an Electrical or Electronics background (if specialization in low-power electronics, even better).
4. Skills – ability to create a circuit with minimal/no direction or guidance. Ability to anticipate the issues (e.g. heating) and discuss solutions with rest of team.

Stipend: – 5000 + certificate for every intern who completes the program. If the work is exceptional, a letter of recommendation may also be given. Depending on the performance, a pre-placement offer may also be made.

Assume the internship requires you to create the Solar T-shirt. The Solar T-shirt has a flexible Solar Panel and a flexible Display stitched into the T-shirt. The Display is powered by the Solar Panel. Your assignment is to create a manufacture-able prototype of this T-shirt. Please explain what are the broad components of the design (detailed circuit diagram not required), and what are the likely areas where the design may fail (failure may also include lack of comfort for the customer, or inability of the design to work for long periods).
