Harbingers of Change
Career, merely a six letter word, means the world that is about to engulf us, our lives and our whole beings. Our decisions are not always taken on the basis of what we want but, what we see is in trend. We are influenced by the choices of our acquaintances. We simply piggyback on their decisions. Friendships are important and we do need to take in our parents’ considerations, but it is we who have to work and live our job. We have lost our own intellect or else, we are not aware of the amazing career options available that would best-suit our interests. What we choose today has a great impact on our future, in fact, our entire life!
One must go with what they love to do and make it their final career-destination. Though your choices may seem impossible to accomplish and you may have to deal with the orthodox mentality of our conservative society, but if you believe that you can do it, then there is nothing that can stop you. It has been rightly said, “What the society would say; has been a prime reason for the mass destruction of many wonderful dreams.” It is not necessary to always please the society and when one’s dreams are at stake. Don’t join the crowd, just to fit in with your surroundings; instead, live up your dreams, stand apart from the mediocre crowd, prove yourself and embark on a journey of twinkling success. You have just one life and it should be your decisions that should knit your future. You are the best judge of your capability and no one else can evaluate the rationality of your decisions. Money may not always be the priority; satisfaction and happiness matter much more. We have heard it many times that opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye and hence should be grabbed without giving much thought. We tend to blindly follow the crowd which had been following some other crowd, which again had been following someone else and the cycle goes on. There is a definite scarcity of leaders or more accurately put, there are no harbingers of change who would be willing to revise the age-old dogmas of career, education and future. We also ignorantly camouflage the fact that opportunities would be lost only when they are allowed to be created and they won’t be created unless one does what he/she actually wants to do.
What has already been set as the standard by the society is difficult to change but, it is not impossible. Another important fact is that the pre-conceived societal standard is quite easy to achieve and hence, most people go for it. Dreams are like apples on trees. The best ones are on the top of the tree. The people don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the grounds. The need is for the daring and courageous leaders to come forward and climb all the way to the top of the tree.
While following you heart, you may encounter failures, but that’s not the end of it. It is from those failures that one learns and improves. If others don’t know your worth, that doesn’t mean you shine any less. Let others laugh at you when you fall for the first time. Eventually, the same people would be congratulating you when you would overcome all your difficulties and glitter with success.
So, everyone out there, take a step ahead, live by what your heart says. Do what you love. Choose what you have always dreamt about. Lead a life that you have desired. Break the shackles that restrain you from discovering yourself. Don’t forget, sky is the limit for those who all set to fulfill their dreams with passion, dedication and hard work. Don’t let small minds convince you that our dreams are way to big.
As they say it, “If you want to achieve something that you have never had before, then, you need to do something that you have never done before.”
