Mozilla is looking for qualitative and qualitative User Experience Researcher interns to bring more user insights to its products. No last date is mentioned in the official post. About the internship : – The User Research team is currently looking for two types of interns as below:
1. Quantitative User Research Intern: Mozilla is looking for top notch interns to work on improving Firefox through quantitative user research. Interns at Mozilla get the opportunity to own independent projects that can release within 3 months of completion to millions of our users.
Required skills/attributes:
- JavaScript development experience – a sample interview questions might be “what’s the difference between Javascript prototypal inheritance and traditional object-oriented inheritance?”
- Statistics – some interview questions might related to your experience with Processing or R.
- User Experience or HCI fundamentals – a sample interview question might be “how would you redesign the Firefox tab bar?”
Written and verbal communication skills – you’ll be on IRC, participating in mailing lists. If you have experience with open source projects, please include links in your application.
2. Qualitative User Experience Researcher Intern: Mozilla is looking for a qualitative User Experience Researcher intern to bring more user insights to our product.
Required skills/attributes:
- Basic research techniques including cognitive walk-though, 1:1 user interview, remote testing, field studies and survey, as well who can be innovative and experimental in the approach and methodology.
- Ability to connect insights to design, brand, systems and/or business.
- Flexible and efficient – so you will be able to move quickly from planning to conducting the work, synthesizing insights and informing opportunities.
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Any of the following skills/experiences will be a big plus:
Experience with user screening/recruiting.
Experience in extending the research work into design recommendations is beneficial.

Duration: 3 months
