Internshala- making my internship matter
Nitisha, a 4th year computer science student at KEC Bhubaneswar, recently completed her 1st month at Internshala as Editorial intern. In this article she talks about her journey so far and how she is learning to push boundaries of word possible every day. Read on…
From being interviewed to receiving the call letter from Internshala, every moment has been precious. It’s been a month now and I can’t remember a second when I haven’t felt as a part of the team. The virtual interaction session with the team members was uniquely helpful and exciting. It made me feel very comfortable. Working with a start up is challenging, but Internshala makes it all worthwhile. Under the guidance of a very inspiring and dedicated mentor, my first month has been quite a journey.
With all the work and deadlines it seemed difficult at first. But when you have a team where your mentor cares more about your academics rather than the work assigned, where you have friends who help and guide you through every silly problem; what more could one ask for? Had the team members not been so supportive, I wouldn’t have made it through. It was a different experience altogether. The work did push my buttons, but only towards excellence. It was also amazing to see so many victories in one month. I felt proud to be associated with Internshala.
The feeling of taking up responsibilities, executing them successfully and being appreciated for it is just awesome. The making of the Internshala Newsletter with all its complications was indeed a turning point. I got to learn so many new things, but the most important one was- ‘Never say I can’t do it’. One may have to work on diverse areas, so always be prepared for anything and everything. For help, the team is always there. In this one month I’ve discovered a part of myself that I was unaware of until now.
It would be unfair not to mention the happy moments of receiving your first paycheck and other perks. Your first hard earned money is indeed special and I got that from Internshala. I am also the proud owner of an Internshala T-shirt in which I look super cool. Internshala does make an internship matter. Looking forward to more excitement and learning in the coming months.
Cheers!
