How I finally got the hang of Web Development
About the Author: Nikita Rani is pursuing B.Tech in IT from MITS, Gwalior. She recounts how she came across Internshala Trainings for doing Web Development training and how she finally learned the intricacies of Web Development.
How I met Internshala is a really exciting story. As my parents have been involved in the field of Computer Science, I was passionate towards computers since childhood. When I was 6 years old, I used to ‘teach’ typing to everyone I met! Jokes apart, when I was in 10th grade, I got a project to make a small website on Bodhgaya, a well-known religious place close to my hometown. With the help of my mother, I developed a beautiful website (98% of which was developed by my mother) and secured 1st rank. But somewhere that day, I developed a crush on Web Development.
Time passed by, and I started pursuing B.E in Information Technology. After completing my C and C++ courses, I wanted to do something different. My father advised me to master any one programming language. Meanwhile, I was also searching for an internship for my summer holidays and had heard my friends talk about Internshala. I consulted my brother who is currently studying in IIT Kharagpur, and he too recommended Internshala.
With a lot of enthusiasm, I started browsing on Internshala website. That’s when I saw Online Training written at the top of the website, clicking on which redirected me to Internshala’s training page. Even though I was searching for an internship, when I saw Web Development training in that list, I couldn’t stop myself from going through all the details of that program. After seeing all the topics and the final project that I was expected to create myself, I decided to take this training rather than look for an Internship. After seeing the cost of this training, I smiled to myself remembering how I was told a price of Rs. 13,000\- for the same training in one of the institutes in my hometown. I felt like I had reached the right place.
I started the training, made my notes, and every time I solved an assignment on my own, I showed it to my parents. Yes, it was a victory for me, a feeling I could not explain in mere words. My parents were also happy that finally, I was doing something that I had always dreamt of. I frequently asked my doubts and got a good response from the support team. I remember when I made my first database connection, I ran to my father and showed him what I had done. He was elated and appreciated my efforts (again a feeling worth millions of dollars).
I successfully completed all the modules of the training and even created my own E-commerce website. There were days when my website showed errors, and I had to spend time searching the solutions through forum or support, or on the internet but I never stopped trying. I’m already waiting for my next holidays when I would have my second training on Advanced Web Development (Ajax, jQuery & JS) through Internshala.
Internshala gave me the opportunity to gain the skill that I had always wanted, at an affordable price. Now, I look forward to obtaining internships and creating a better resume through Internshala. Whenever anyone asks me about the most efficient and productive way to spend holidays, I instantly answer – join Internshala!
