Internship at Sristi Summer Innovation School – Yash from Thapar University
Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard for it. Yash is pursuing Electronics and Communication engineering and shares his wonderful experience of internship days.
My internship started back in June. My excitement level was high because it was my first ever internship and I had never been to Ahmedabad before. I wanted to explore that city too.
I kicked off my journey to Ahmedabad and when I reached there, the organisation sent a car to pick me up and I was amused by this gesture. I got a good accommodation and good food. The dhoklas, khaman and jalebis fascinated me but along with that I was really looking forward to the work that I had to do.
Since we were working on the grass root innovations for a social problem, we went to the fields of slums, vendors, local manufacturers and at last we landed at a broom maker’s community. We got to know that a broom is made by hand and that a great amount of pain goes into making a single broom.
We decided to curb this pain by bringing a technical intervention in our innovation for the broom makers. With the guidance and help of all the renowned professors around the globe, we were successful in making a sewing-machine inspired broom making machine and a glove which would protect their hands. Between all this work, we had fun and joyful experiences and I loved Ahmedabad and its food. That was my first Internship experience.
