Internship in Bangalore – Social Entrepreneurship – Pollinate Energy

About Pollinate Energy: – Pollinate Energy (http://pollinateenergy.org/) is an NGO with an aim to eradicate energy poverty in India through locally manufactured, affordable and well-maintained clean energy solutions.
About the internship: – The Pollinate Energy internship and young professionals program develops leadership and business skills while working to provide access to clean energy technology, as well as an awareness of other cultures through working with teams of foreign fellows and young professionals.Interns take on two assignments during the the program.
- First, a group research project with two visiting fellows targeting a core area of interest for the organization on topics such as product development, communications and fund-raising and business processes.
- Secondly, interns are teamed with a ‘pollinator’ – a pre-screened local, motivated to start their own clean energy business – and two fellows or young professionals to assist with mapping out communities that will become customers of solar powered lights. Interns will assist with training their pollinator by developing their pollinator’s sales strategy and customer leads in the office and spending each evening in Bangalore’s urban slums.

Who can apply: – Any student from any education background with an ability to demonstrate an interest in social entrepreneurship and an enthusiasm for improving energy access in a country like India, with fluency in Kannada and English, and knowledge of Telugu and Tamil (desirable) can apply. Only applicants from Bangalore will be preferred.
Location: – Bangalore
Duration: – 1 month
Start date: – November 2013
Stipend: – Rs.1000/- per month + Certificate + letter of recommendation +travel allowances.
