About Foundation for Democratic Reforms: – Foundation for Democratic Reforms (http://www.fdrindia.org/) is based in Hyderabad and is research-resource centre for promoting democratic institutions and formulating fundamental reforms in democratic and governance spheres and in critical areas of public policy. FDR is also involved in drafting informed advocacy of comprehensive electoral reforms, strengthening citizen-centered governance and public policy, empowerment of local governments, judicial and police reforms and instruments of transparency and accountability.
About the internship: – Interns will be involved in research, analysis, documentation, coordination or event planning as per the assigned projects. Broad areas of research include governance reforms (political, electoral, judicial, police, local governance) and public policy.
Number of internships available: – 5
Who can apply: – Any undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate, especially from the Social Sciences, Humanities and Law background or those taking a sabbatical from their careers can apply for this internship can apply. Candidates need to have understanding of the social and political issues confronting India and a desire to promote public good.
Location: – Hyderabad
Duration: – 2 months
Start date: – September 2013
Stipend: – Negotiable + Certificate and stipend will be provided.
Additional details: – Those who commit more than a month will are more likely to be considered for paid internships. Internships of one month under the unpaid category are also considered.
