This one is for all the environment and wildlife lovers of Internshala. Contrary to what you may think, this internship is not about being an Environmental activist raising slogans or writing articles. This is as scientific as it can get. Sample couple of the themes for the internship program; Evaluation of methods for DNA extraction from Antlers, GIS & Database development. Get what I am saying? About WII: – The Wildlife Institute of India (WII, http://www.wii.gov.in/) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. Established in 1982, Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity-related issues.
About Internship: – The objectives of the internship programme are;
(i) to provide a framework by which graduate and post-graduate students from diverse academic backgrounds may work in the Institute for a short period to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments; and
(ii) to provide the Institute’s faculty with the assistance of highly motivated and talented students to execute work in key thematic areas in wildlife conservation.
Subject/Thematic Areas/Project
- India’s National Wildlife Policy Formation.
- GIS & Data Base Development.
- Distribution, status and conservation threats of dholes in North East India.
- Evaluation of methods for DNA extraction from Antlers.

Who can apply: – Students studying in recognized colleges, universities and institutions of higher learning are eligible to apply for the IP. Applications for the IP must be duly forwarded by the Principal/Dean/ Registrar of the College/University/Institution, in which the student is currently studying.
Location: – Dehradun, India
Duration: – a maximum of 6 months
Stipend: – This is an unpaid internship. A certificate of internship would be issued post completion of the internship basis recommendation of the faculty member.
