Internship with Swaniti – Multiple profiles – Pune, Bolangir, and Gangtok
Swaniti is an initiative striving to build a vibrant India with the support of its talented and passionate youth by fostering dialogue and creating channels of participation for youth in Indian government. Swaniti is now accepting applicaitons for its fall internship programme. The application deadline is 20th September, 2013- hurry!
About Swaniti: –Swaniti (www.swaniti.in) strives to engage talented youth in civilly oriented opportunities, to enrich governance systems with the support of progressive leadership, to empower the next generation of Indian citizens through active involvement.
About the internship: – Below are the different projects on which interns would be working-
- Open data in Sikkim: Creating a database that will be a centralized location for data on the state government’s performance on human and social development indicators (eg high school graduation rate etc.) that will primarily be used as an information source by governmental staff and citizens.
- Bringing industries to Bolangir: Bringing in industry players in to Bolangir and creating the appropriate setup for them while also developing capacity within the office of the Member of Parliament to support of private sector growth.
- Improving gender and children status in Pune: This yearlong engagement will focus on developing and launching programs that will help improve the status of women in Pune, Maharashtra through community level engagement.

Who can apply: – Applicants are expected to complete at least an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) from an accredited college or University prior to applying for the Swaniti Initiative. You must also have received a secondary school diploma in order to be considered. Academic and Professional Standing Swaniti will request to review your academic and professional standing through transcripts and references. It is important that you are prepared with each prior to applying for the internships.
Indian national/foreign national status Swaniti accepts: 1.) Indian citizens, and 2.) Foreign nationals of Indian origin. However, foreign applicants must have arranged appropriate documentation to work in India for the internship.
