Internship at Sparsh – Akash from SRM University
Just sincere efforts are required to bring a change. Akash (guy in white shirt in front) is an engineering student who devoted his time in social work. Selflessly he worked for the benefit of society and helped to bring smile on thousands of faces. His story will leave you inspired.
I would like to say that the internship that I did at NGO “SPARSH” was really awesome and it gave me an opportunity of doing something for the needy children and people. Basically it’s a social work and I love doing it. The work assigned to me was that I had to collect goods like clothes, books, stationery etc. and donate it to the needy children and people. So as my internship started I started collecting the above mentioned goods, pasted posters on the notice board and put donation boxes in our hostels. All the collected goods were donated in the orphanage.
Apart from the donation, we conducted teaching programs for the children in that orphanage on weekly basis. The basic aim behind teaching program was to inculcate basics of education in them so that they get a platform to learn and share. I talked to other member and we made different teams. One team used to teach basic subjects and others taught craft and sports. We brought our laptops with us and taught them basic computer skills like paint, MS word, parts of computer etc. I loved the work that was assigned to me and successfully completed my internship. I was awarded as the 5th highest scorer among all the volunteers in the group. After completing my internship, now I am working as the member of that NGO.
That’s all about my internship experience and at last I would like to say that, if you wish to bring the change then we have to come together and contribute to the society.
