The multiple internship opportunities, in area of Design, Social Media, On ground coordinator, and Photography are excellent ways for you to get involved in this nation building exercise. About the internship: – There are multiple internship opportunities available for students;
1. Delhi Coordinator (Lead): – Delhi is central to Swaniti’s activities that range from talks to recruitment support to partnership building to client engagement. The Swaniti team member will be expected to be the key point of contact for all activities in Delhi. Since Swaniti focuses on three key elements, Fellowships, Governance Labs and Talks, and Conference, the Delhi coordinator will be involved in each of the aspects and will be expected to support in the successful execution of each.

Role and responsibilities: – The Delhi Coordinators position includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Leading the Swaniti Talks program
- Building relationships with institutional partners
- Connecting with external stakeholders
- Organizing outreach programs for Swaniti Fellows
- Networking with prospective Swaniti Fellows
Time commitment and compensation: – Delhi Coordinator will be expected to give approximate 6 – 8 hours/week. The position is initially voluntary though coordinators might be considered for possible paid opportunities.
Expectations: – Coordinators are expected to have the following traits:
- Be above 20 years of age
- Expected to be college graduates (seniors are also acceptable)
- Maintain leadership qualities
- Have strong communication skills
- Willing to take initiative on projects
- Interested in Indian governance and polity
Location: Delhi
2. Design Associate: – Swaniti’s activities require a considerable amount of web and graphic design and development. Since Swaniti focuses on three key elements, Fellowships, Governance Labs and Talks and Conference, the Design Associate will be involved in each of the aspects and will be expected to support in the successful execution of each.

Role and responsibilities: – The Design Associate position includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Designing and creating graphic and web design components in conjunction with the core team
- Implementing designs for informative one pagers, presentation templates, info-graphics, and email newsletters
- Ensuring a clear design vision for all Swaniti branded creative
- Help with the definition and design of Swaniti’s website
- Work collaboratively with the core team on web-based implementations
Time commitment and compensation: – Design Associates will be expected to give approximately 3 – 5 hours/week. The position is initially voluntary though associates might be considered for possible paid opportunities.
Expectations: – Associates are expected to have the following traits:
- Expertise in the use of the Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Web design experience and familiarity with cross-browser and cross-platform challenges
- Knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with WordPress
- Have strong communication skills
- Willing to take initiative on projects
- Interested in Indian governance and polity

3. Photography Associate: – Swaniti’s field presence provides tremendous scope to capture visual interactions. The Swaniti Photography Associate will be responsible for assisting Swaniti team members capture and document on-field fellowship experiences, cover events like Swaniti Talks and participate in Swaniti’s social networks including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

- Collaborating with Swaniti Fellows to develop visual content
- Covering Swaniti events like Swaniti Talks
- Engaging with team members to make Swaniti’s online presence more interactive and appealing
- Producing relevant visual content for the website’s blog and gallery
Time commitment and compensation:– Photography Associates will be expected to give approximately 2 – 5 hours/week. The position is initially voluntary though associates might be considered for possible paid opportunities.
Expectations:– Associates are expected to have the following traits:
- Have hands on experience with DSLR’s, speed lights and lenses
- Familiarity with Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for file conversion and organization is helpful
- Have strong communication skills
- Willing to take initiative on projects
- Interested in Indian governance and polity
Location(s): Assam, West Bengal, Kerala and Delhi
4. Social Media Associate: – Swaniti endeavors to build a significant online presence through its website and the upcoming Swaniti Governance Labs. The Social Media Associate will be responsible for assisting the team in maintaining and growing its presence on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter as well as collaborating with Design and Photography Associates to consolidate Swaniti’s digital content online.

- Develop and maintain plan for Swaniti’s social media presence
- Perform continuous enhancements and modifications to Swaniti’s social media outlets
- Assess new standards, technologies and trends, and formulate plans for future enhancement to social media strategies
- Respond promptly to comments on social media outlets, blogs and the Swaniti website
- Research, write/edit and create layout for new articles and features
Time commitment and compensation:– Social Media Associates will be expected to give approximately 5 – 7 hours/week. The position is initially voluntary though associates might be considered for possible paid opportunities.
Expectations: – Associates are expected to have the following traits:
- Knowledge and understanding of social media outlets and related blog technologies
- Ability to write simply with a conversational style
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Willing to take initiative on projects
- Interested in Indian governance and polity
