Internship with Centre for Civil Society – Communicating Reality Internship Program – Delhi, India
Centre for Civil Society (CCS) invites applications for the Communicating Reality Internship program, an extension of its much-acclaimed Researching Reality Internship. Just to give you a sense on popularity of CCS Internship programs, the Researching Reality program for this year received 213 applications from all over the world & prominent schools in India (IITs, NITs, National Law School, St. Stephen’s, Lady Sri Ram college etc.) of which ~10% made the cut – so now you know the competition you are up against!
In addition, Centre for Civil Society (CCS) is founded by Gurcharan Das (author of India Unbound), so brace yourself for intense soul stirring and thought provoking debate and discussion sessions with the best and the brightest in the country. The last date to apply is 5th June 2011 – hurry!

About Internship: – The Communicating Reality Internship is an opportunity to explore social and economic dimensions of real life issues through creative mediums like video documentaries, newspaper articles, blogs, social media, and strategic communication. Through the Communicating Reality internship CCS introduces young college students to innovative ideas on development and enhances their skills set through a series of workshops. Interns will also have an opportunity to interact with a host of in-house experts on public policy, advocacy, communication, and translate ideas into creative forms.
The Communicating Reality Internship program will help young people
- Develop an understanding of socio-economic issues with a special focus on the possible roles of government, markets, and civil society groups;
- Interview prominent economists, opinion makers, and policy leaders;
- Create innovative projects with peer research interns;
- Work on developing and design CCS website;
- Learn strategic communications and collateral development; and
- Write opinion pieces and commentary for leading newspapers
Who can apply: – Any undergraduate, graduate or professional student or a recent graduate with a passion for research in area of public policy is encouraged to apply
Location: – Delhi, India.
Duration: – June-July 2011
Stipend: – Unpaid
