Summer Internship 2013 – Software Contribution Quota – IIT Bombay, India
An internship opportunity for the students who demonstrate their programming skills and a desire to contribute to society by supporting an ambitious free content program designed to benefit underprivileged school children. The application deadline is 22nd February, 2013- hurry!
About Ekalavya: – A brain child of Prof. D. B. Phatak of IIT Bombay, Ekalavya aims to enable better educational order and facilities for Indian students by using Information and Communication Technologies to develop innovative channels of knowledge dissipation. The Ekalavya portal (http://ekalavya.it.iitb.ac.in/ekalavyaHome.do) is an attempt to generate an interactive platform for the creation, absorption, dissemination and usage of knowledge for the well being of the individual and the society. It is a significant step forward to bring together students, teachers, and working professionals to meaningfully enhance the productivity of the group and spread knowledge.
About Internship: – The selected software contribution quota candidates will be part of the main summer internship program that will be organised for 8 weeks at IIT Bombay from beginning of May 2013. For more info, please refer to software contribution quota page.
Who can apply: – 3rd year (preferable) and 2nd year students of Computer Science, IT & Electronics engineering streams
Location: – IIT Bombay, India
Duration: – 8 weeks
Start date: – 9th May 2013 (for 8 weeks module)
Stipend: – Rs. 8,000 for 8 weeks. There would be a certificate issued at the completion of the internship. The candidate would have to pay a sum of Rs. 6000 as internship fee plus for boarding and lodging expenses at IIT Bombay. Please refer to software contribution quota page. for detailed information.
