Summer Internship program – Institute for Plasma Research – Gandhinagar
A very unique opportunity for students interested in pursuing research and technology to spend their summer at the Institute for Plasma Research! This internship is an Internship-cum-Summer-school program for students interested to dwell into the depths of nuclear science and plasma. Last date to apply is 20th April – hurry up!
About Institute of Plasma Research: – Institute for Plasma Research is an autonomous physics research institute under the Department of Atomic Research, involved in research in various aspects of plasma science including basic plasma physics, research on magnetically confined hot plasmas and plasma technologies for industrial applications.
About the internship: – During the program, you will learn about Plasma (matter in an ionized state) and its applications in nuclear fusion and industries. The course comprises of lectures on plasma science, fusion and industrial technologies, and a short project related to Plasma Science/Technology. The participants will have to work on a specific project in association with a faculty member of the institute. This is a huge opportunity for the students to interact with the scientists at IPR.
Who can apply: – Students who have completed their
- 1st Year M. Sc. OR
- 4th Year Integrated M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics OR
- 3rd Year B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc(Engineering) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering.
Duration: – The program will be for 6 weeks, starting 28th May 2012 to 6th July 2012.
Location: – The summer internship will be at the Institute itself, at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat.
Stipend: – If selected, you will be paid a stipend of Rs.10,500/- for the entire period and a to and fro train fare (sleeper class ) by the shortest route. You will also be provided with a free hostel accommodation (limited seats are available) during this period.

Send us the hard copy of the same, duly forwarded by your head of the institution, and along with all required mark sheets and supporting documents relevant to your honors and medals through postal mail on or before 20 April 2012 to the address given on the website.
