“Finance Finance Go Away, Please do not come again and find another way!” My earlier perspective towards finance cannot be summed better than this, although I have majored in Finance. Being the first batch in the college, and having absolutely zero corporate contacts in the industry, I was left to struggle on my own, and then finally, one of my class mate came as a savior for me, and he got me a two month internship assignment with this Factoring Major in India.
Although being a privately run company, it had most of its management deputed from the parent public company, which gave it the full right to be called a privately owned, but publicly run company. First day at office, reached at 8:30 in the morning, only to find that the office is locked. At 9:30, the housekeeping guy came and unlocked the shutter and then I entered “THE” office. Those big leaps of files and documents, those messy tables, gave me a feeling as if I have come to a govt office. Nevertheless, the people out there were very supportive and guided me quite well, in all aspects.
I was always scared of Finance in my first year, and that went off at all, while interning with this company. And, I sincerely thank my mentors for the same. To sum up, now I can very well say, Finance is my cup of tea :)
