A very unique and rare opportunity for students pursuing Life Sciences and related subject to take your research up a notch with this summer internship at CNIO, Spain. This summer internship is open for all undergraduate students of any nationality who are in their final two years of studies in the Life Sciences or related subjects (e.g. Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics). About CNIO: – Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncologicas (CNIO) is a leading cancer and life sciences research center in Spain. Also called the Spanish National Cancer Research Institute, the CNIO has been making ground breaking research in the fields of cancer research and related fields. With collaborations from various other organizations, the institute provides excellent infrastructure for your research projects.
About the internship: – This summer internship is open for all undergraduate students of any nationality who are in their final two years of studies in the Life Sciences or related subjects (e.g. Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics). Each student will be matched with a specific laboratory based on the student’s interest and background. The student will be working under the supervision of the group/unit leader or a member of the research group. The participants will attend a series of seminars given by faculty members and researchers from the CNIO. Students will be required to present the results of their summer projects in a special session to be held at the end of the programme.

Who can apply: –
- You must be an undergraduate university student in your final two years of Life Sciences or Biomedicine-related studies (in any country) and planning on pursuing a career in the Life Sciences.
- You must have an excellent academic track record with a Grade Point Average (GPA) above 0.75 (with your GPA as the numerator and the highest possible GPA as the denominator).
- You must have a good knowledge of English.
- You must be available from June 18th to August 10th (8 weeks) to attend the training programme. If you cannot be at the CNIO during this period, you will not be eligible for the programme.
Location: – Spain
Duration: – June 24 to August 16, 2013.
Stipend: – One return ticket from the student’s home town to Madrid + Subsidize breakfasts and lunches (Although last year participants were offered a stipend of 600 €/month, but no such thing is mentioned for this year programme)
