Summer Training in Physics and Chemistry – Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research
This is an interesting summer training opportunity at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research(IGCAR), Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu for students entering their final year of regular or integrated MSc (Physics/Chemistry). Deadline of the application is March 11th 2013- hurry!
About IGCAR: – Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research [IGCAR], the second largest establishment of the Department of Atomic Energy next to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, was set up at Kalpakkam in 1971. This is part of the second stage of Indian Atomic Energy Programme, which is aimed at preparing the country for utilization of the extensive Thorium reserves and providing means to meet the large demands of electrical energy in 21st century.
About the training programme: – Programme will comprise of both theoretical lecture courses and hands-on laboratory experience through projects. This programme is aimed at motivating the students to pursue a career in research. The theme for this year’s course is Materials: Structure And Properties.
Who can Apply: – Students entering their final year of regular or integrated M.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry). (Students completing M.Sc. in 2013 need not apply).
Number of internships: – Twenty students will be selected in each discipline.
Location: – Kalpakkam,Tamil Nadu
Duration:- May-27 to July-05, 2013
Stipend: – Rs.4000/- per month + Travel expenses (sleeper class)
