Uninor: Internet for All Challenge
Note – The deadline to submit your entry is 31st August 2014.
The most invaluable thing in this modern era is an idea. Young and old, professionals and students, everyone alike are full of ideas they want to execute to bring about a change in their respective lives. Be it the traffic you face every day while traveling, or the age old education system that needs a facelift, people are beaming with new ideas to implement. And by incorporating the ever growing technology, these ideas can be taken to a new level altogether. But as they say, brilliant ideas are a dime a dozen, it’s the execution that counts.
Keeping all these aspects in mind, Uninor has launched ‘Internet for All Challenge’ 2014. It is a great platform to showcase your ideas along with the plan of action on how to go about executing them. The ideas should, however, bring about a social change in India using the fast spreading mobile internet technology. If you have an idea that enables social change, an idea that is brilliant enough to be showcased to the world, then Uninor wants to hear it from you. They are not only presenting you with an opportunity to showcase your idea to the world, but also to represent India at Telenor Youth Summit that will take place in Oslo, Norway. All this is done in partnership with Nobel Peace Centre. There are other incentives in store as well for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. While the individual who wins the competition gets to represent India at Oslo, he also gets INR 1,00,000 as monetary benefit. The 2nd prize winner, too, accompanies the winner at Oslo and takes away INR 50,000 cash prize. The 3rd place holder gets INR 50,000 prize money. Not to forget the global recognition that comes along with it and a chance to see your idea materialize and bring about the change you wanted to see.
The procedure to enter the competition is simple enough. All you have to do is submit your profile from Uninor’s Facebook page. You are required to fill out necessary details like your address and passport availability. Once you have done that, you can submit your idea in the next page. There are various social categories like women safety, corruption, waste disposal etc. You need to describe your idea for the given category. Remember, it should involve mobile internet to bring about a change in the existing system. You also have freedom to upload any attachments to support your project. You also need to mention which sections of society will benefit the most from it. Once your idea is submitted, it will be assessed by the panel and you will be reverted if your idea is good enough. Since the summit is to take place in December, you can submit your ideas till 31st of August, 2014. The competition is already underway and there are lots of great ideas coming in.
