Wouldn’t it be great if you could actually use the efforts that you would spend in doing the literature review for your upcoming final year project (BTP) to build a knowledge base that would benefit all the future students/research scholars worldwide? What more, you would enhance your own domain knowledge which will come handy at the time of placements or higher studies application. All this in form of a paid internship! About Velocimetry: – Velocimetry knowledge portal (http://www.velocimetry.net/index.htm) is an initiative by IIT Madras faculty and alumni who have expertise in various Laser Flow Diagnostic techniques. The lack of a good knowledge bank on these techniques was a cause of concern and this ignited the thoughts towards creating an online portal to provide as much information as possible on these techniques in a consolidated manner. The portal includes Basic Principles, Applications, Discussion forums, Links to ‘Links’ etc. Velocimetry portal hopes to become as the reference centre for all queries related to Laser Flow Diagnostic Techniques for all the students and scholars worldwide.
About Internship: – Velocimetry is looking for interns to help build and upgrade portal’s knowledge database. The selected candidate would be required to surf online to gather latest information, applications, usages etc. info and build that into the portal’s database. Candidates must be interested in the field of laser flow diagnostics techniques (PIV, StereoPIV, MicroPIV, NanoPIV, High speed PIV, PTV, LDV, PDPA, PLIF, ILIDS, PSP etc).
Number of Internships: – >10
Who can apply: – 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students of Aerospace/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering streams with an interest in the fields of experimental fluid dynamics / laser flow diagnostics techniques. Should be Google savvy, should be able to search for journals and conference papers and user groups. Knowledge of web design and development would be an advantage.
Location: – Work from home
Duration: – Minimum of 1 month.
Start dates: – ASAP
Stipend: – Rs. 1000/- per month + a letter of recommendation will be provided to those who do well in the internship.
