Internship with Janaagraha – Multiple Profiles – Bangalore, India
Over the years, scores of active citizens and students have supported Janaagraha in different measures. Janaagraha’s transition from inspiring ‘practical patriotism’ to improving ‘quality of life’ was made possible by these interns and volunteers who mixed passion with rigour. The internship opportunities are available in practically every aspect of studies that one can think of. Engineers, MBAs, Social Science students, writers, lawyers, urban planners, research fellows, economists – there is something for everyone!
About Janaagraha: – Janaagraha (www.janaagraha.org) is arguably India’s best known non-government, not for profit organization working relentlessly to strengthen democracy in India by working for citizen participation in urban local government. iJannagraha (www.ijanaagraha.org) & I Paid a Bribe (www.ipaidabribe.com) are their 2 key online initiatives and of course, who can ever forget the “Jaago Re” campaign in association with Tata Tea that registered ~600,000 citizens online for voting.
About Internship: – At Janaagraha students from almost all walks of life come and contribute (which in itself should be quite an experience). Irrespective of the area you choose to work in – be assured that you work matters and plays a role in ensuring a better tomorrow for all of us! Every Saturday there is a volunteer orientation program at Janaagraha office between 4 – 5 PM – if you are in Bangalore, walk-in and get a feel for yourself. Location: – Bangalore, India
Duration: – Minimum 1 month
Start Date: – This is a rolling internship / volunteering program, students can apply throughout the year
Stipend: – Unpaid. There would be a certificate issued at the end of the internship basis the performance during internship
